Story
On the 27th October 2013 I will be at the Glasshouse at Pyramids again this time waiting to start the Great South Run. As you are probably aware I've already run a Marathon in Dec 2012 in honour of Jason Denham, but I'm continuing on with the fund raising as would love to hit my £1000 goal for Macmillan. I will also be running in the 2013 Grim Challenge on the 1st December and the Portsmouth Marathon again on the 22nd December. Any and all support is very much appreciated.
Jase or JD as we knew him was a vibrant young man, always cycling to work and going to the gym, generally pursuing a fit and healthy lifestyle. We used to chat about diet/fitness on an almost daily basis. He gave me a lot of support with my running and my weight loss and was a constant source of motivation. Always laughing, smiling and joking, it seems odd not to see him anymore, not to talk to him on our daily catch ups, usually at lunchtime or after hours when most had left for the day! JD was a dedicated and hard working man. His battle with cancer was so sudden, so fast and taken on with such strength of character.
I am running for him and to raise money for Macmillan cancer support who cared for him in his final days. Please support me in my goal and make a donation. Even if its just a £1 every little helps in the fight against cancer, a disease that sadly touches almost everyone’s lives these days.
I'm doing these runs in memory of a colleague, a friend, a buddy, a cheeky chap lovingly known as JD. Tragically, we lost Jason earlier this year to cancer. It was all very sudden and I'd like to do what I can to raise some funds for Macmillan Cancer Support who cared for him. Jase came to support me in the past when I ran the Great South Run in memory of my mum, who I lost to cancer, it seems fitting that I do something for him.
