Story
My dad was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. He benefits greatly from the amazing services provided by Pilgrims Hospice, and especially their Therapy Centre where he has physio therapy and receives emotional support.
Pilgrims Hospice is a charity providing palliative care free of charge to people in east Kent, and therefore relies on charitable donations.
I joined a local running club, Beginners2Runners, back in April this year following a difficult time and it has made a huge difference to my quality of life. I'd like to channel this into raising money for charity, as a way of making a difference for those who need palliative care, and their families.
Please support me in any way you can, no matter how little. As a guide, here is an example of the impact the following amounts will have on someone this Christmas:
- £1 could pay for a patient to enjoy a mince pie and custard in the run up to Christmas
- £10 could pay for a patient's Christmas dinner
- £20 could pay for a physiotherapy session to help patients stay active and enjoy festive games with their family on Christmas day
- £50 could pay for a Christmas tree to decorate our hospice family rooms
- £100 could pay for a therapy session for a child coping with the loss of a loved one over the festive season.
I thank you for any support you can offer, and I wish you all a very happy Christmas.
Paul.
