Story
We are putting our love of football to the ultimate test this summer by entering one of Tackle's Football Marathons - a unique fundraising event. Each year over 500 people take part in our regional 12-hour tournaments.Tackle Africa uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across Sub-Saharan Africa.
We deliver HIV Education through football to create lasting change for young Africans. Tackle Africa uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across the continent of Africa.
Me and my team (Bryce Leatt, Calum Peacock, Ryan Marcinko, Alex Durance, Alex Mottram, Lucas Brennan and Alfie Le Guilcher) are embarking on yet again another day full of blisters, blood, sweat and a lot of tears.
The marathon takes place from 08:00-20:00 on 15th July 2023. on average we cover about 24 miles in total throughout a very tough and hot day.
We will be hoping to raise £1,360 as a team collectively which equates to about £170 per person.
Any donations will go straight towards the Tackle Africa Charity. and any amount is hugely appreciated even if it is your loose change!
