Story
Hello there and welcome to my Just Giving page. I have decided to run the London Marathon this year, wahey!
I have always wanted to run it and I’ve watched others close to me run it over the years. I felt inspired to do the same*.
*since signing up I have realised that I am not a good runner and I am pretty unfit, so what the hell am I doing!
I have always found that exercise gets me out of my head and makes me feel more present. So I am hoping training for the marathon will give me many more of these occasions. It feels important for me to test my body and my mind, to push myself and see what I am capable of.
I am running for a charity called Dreams Come True who do amazing things for children and young people with life limiting illnesses. I haven’t had first hand experience with them but I know people that have. What they do is unbelievable and I feel lucky to be able to support them by raising money for their charity.
Dreams Come True are a national charity whose mission is to enrich the lives of children and young people with serious and life-limiting conditions from disadvantaged backgrounds, by fulfilling their dreams. For some, a dream could be to meet their heroes or to spend a couple of days away to forget their troubles. For others, it could be something simpler like having a room to call their own or an accessible bike that allows them to ride with their family and friends. No matter the dream, if it is fulfilled it can improve the quality of life, spreading excitement and happiness through the family.
It would mean a lot to me if you could support me on my journey, I hope I make you proud :)
