Story
To raise money for the charity Mind, we wanted to do something challenging. Optional challenge and achievement, pushing yourself into the uncomfortable is a great way to boost your mental health.
We are two blokes [Pete and Sam] who one way or another know a bit about mental health struggles. Activity, fitness and sport has been a lifeline our whole lives. We wanted to do something that represents this, as well as the idea of supporting those around you, of 'picking up a mate' of carrying each other through some crap times. So......the piggy back marathon was born!
26 miles. One day......possibly a bit longer. We will keep going until we get it done. We both weigh just over 100kilos each and will take it in turns. The training so far has been nasty and this is going to be a killer.
We hope it's a horrible enough a challenge to get people to donate to a great cause. But if you can't donate for whatever reason, do us a favour, call up a mate, do something fun, active, challenging or plan silly [stay safe of course] with them. Tell us about it. That's worth as much as the money.....although send money as well. Please. Thanks
