Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit PIE's JustGiving page.
PIE Recruitment is off to the Lake District on 7th April 2022 to undertake a day's activity challenge - a combination of an off road bike ride through the Forest of Grizedale, a trek up (and back down) the iconic Old Man of Coniston followed by kayaking back across picturesque Coniston Water. The PIE team is raring to go and looking forward to the (doubtless) inclement weather conditions that will accompany a Lake District trip in early April ;-)
We'd love to be able to raise some much needed funds for World Bicycle Relief while we're at it. In many rural areas across the globe children are denied access to basic needs due to the barrier of distance.
World Bicycle Relief mobilises people through The Power of Bicycles. They are committed to helping people conquer the challenge of distance, achieve independence and thrive.
In developing regions of the world, millions of people walk for miles each day just to survive. On foot, individuals race against the sun to complete everyday tasks.
Distance is a barrier to attending school, receiving healthcare, and delivering goods to market. £120 put a Buffalo Bicycle in the hands of someone who has only ever walked.
World Bicycle Relief delivers specially designed, locally assembled, rugged bicycles for people in need. WBR has developed an efficient, innovative, and scalable model to empower communities of students, health workers, and entrepreneurs in rural developing regions with life-changing mobility.
We're really grateful for any donations for this great cause and are already looking forward to the post event drinks, where tales of heroics, narrow escapes and near death experiences will doubtless dominate the conversation...
