Story

Our team will run either 5k, 10k or a half marathon in Luton to raise  funds to help households that are struggling this Winter to pay for their utilities. Community Interest Luton say  "We know the cost of living crisis is worsening day by day. This will be felt hardest by those families already experiencing poverty and struggling to meet the rising cost of food and utilities. Even before the pandemic and the cost of living crisis a council report in 2019 highlighted nearly half of the children in Luton are growing up in poverty, Luton has some of the most deprived wards nationally. We know from our existing services and working with schools that many families are struggling with providing food for their children and covering the cost of living, we also know that our older community are struggling with the cost of living. Keeping Luton Warm is an initiative driven by Community Interest Luton working with Discover Islam Luton, Connect4Causes, InspireFM and Luton Lions to raise funds in order to support households that will struggle this winter to pay for their utilities"
