Story
I’m taking part in a "white collar" boxing match on Friday 10 June at Old Billingsgate in London…. also known as The Boodles Ball. I suspect this may cause a range of reactions from falling off your chair / laughing out loud / concern (potentially) as to why I am doing this, or all of the above….
Training started back in October 2021, and given it is now about two weeks away I'm hopefully nearly ready! It may provide you with some entertainment to watch my training video, which also explains the background to my fight name, Alex "Picasso" Priestley. See here..... https://vimeo.com/
All proceeds raised are going to Hope and Homes for Children...
Every child needs and deserves to grow up in a loving and caring family. Never alone in orphanages that expose them to neglect and abuse. Hope and Homes for Children fight for families globally - on the ground in Ukraine and neighbouring countries Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria, in Africa and in Asia - giving every child the chance to grow up with someone to love and someone to love them.
100,000 children, over 90% of whom have family, are confined in Ukraine's orphanages because of poverty and disability. They are facing the danger and fear of war without family to comfort them. Many orphanage staff have fled the country in search of safety, leaving large numbers of children totally alone. This is why orphanages don't protect children, they harm them.
On June 10th I am fighting to keep families together, reunite those that have been separated and create new ones, so all children have the love and protection of a family.
Will you be in my corner?
Alex / Picasso. x
