Story
My name is Dariusz Adamek, I am a London based photographer taking part in the event detailed below.
In May 2012 Music4Children, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned and homeless children in Nepal and offer creative education to children in the UK through extreme music events, is out to reclaim the World Record for the World’s Highest Gig.
This extreme event involves climbing the snow-capped Mera Peak in the Himalayas to an altitude of 6476 metres and performing an amplified gig on the very peak of the mountain. The musicians will have to combat extreme fatigue, altitude sickness and treacherous icy crevices, carrying their equipment and instruments with enough in them at the top to perform and break the world record. The peak will take 16 days to climb and 13 days to descend – no helicopters, no short cuts.
I am going to provide Music4Children with photographic coverage of this attempt.
In order to become the photographer for this project I need to raise £5000 for Music4Children.
Here are the ideas of what I can do in return for your sponsorship:
· T-shirt and cap branding
· Flag on peak
· Mention during the concert
· Mention during London gigs
· Ticket to join the team at early or final stages
· Ticket to join the team for the whole event
· Plaque in orphanage
· Plaque at The White Lion venue, Streatham
· Credits on documentary
· Credits on internet broadcast
· Credits on Music4Children website
In addition to this, I will launch an exhibition of photographs in one of London’s galleries where active sponsors of the event will be mentioned and promoted as generous donators to the cause.
I will also be producing a book/photo album which will document the whole event stages whilst promoting the companies/organizations who have sponsored and donated the event.
