Pour la quatrième année, une équipe de 7 coureurs de Total participera à 2019 Action for Burns & Children Foundation Hike and Bike Challenge South Africa. Notre équipe est composée de deux femmes et de cinq hommes qui aiment faire du vélo et aider améliorer la qualité de vie des enfants brûlés et de leurs familles en Afrique du Sud.

Nous entreprendrons une difficile randonnée à vélo de 400 km sur 5 jours. Nous traverserons des routes plates et des côtes escarpées avant d'arriver à l'hôpital pour enfants de la Croix-Rouge au Cap.

Le Phoenix Burns Project - un groupe sud-africain enregistré en tant qu'organisation à but non lucratif (NPO: 57-154) et à une organisation d'intérêt public (PBO: 930031313) en Afrique du Sud - en collaboration avec l'organisation Action for Burns and Children visent à réduire la souffrance à long terme des enfants gravement brûlés ou échaudés par des incendies accidentels causés par des réchauds à pétrole, des bougies et de l'eau chaude qui sont très courants chez les enfants des bidonvilles pauvres d'Afrique du Sud. 

Nous nous sommes fixé comme objectif de lever 14 000 €.

Tous les fonds recueillis pendant ce challenge iront directement au Phoenix Burns Project. Le Phoenix Burns Project distribuera les fonds sur trois aspects principaux: le matériel clinique lié aux brûlures, la thérapie psychologique à long terme pour les enfants et leurs familles et les programmes éducatifs sur la prévention des brûlures pour les résidents des townships les plus touchés.

Hello and thank you for visiting our fundraising page!

For the fourth year, a team of 7 riders from Total will be taking part in the 2019 Action for Burns & Children Foundation Hike and Bike Challenge South Africa. Our team is composed of two women and five men who love biking and who are engaged to help improve the life quality of burn children and their families in South Africa.

We will undertake a challenging, off-road ride of 400 km over 5 days. We will ride through flat rolling routes, foothills and some steep hills before arriving to the Red Cross Memorial Children's Hospital in Cape Town.

The Phoenix Burns Project, a South African group registered as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO:57-154) and a Public Benefit Organization (PBO:930031313) in South Africa, in collaboration with the organisation Action for Burns and Children work to reduce the long-term suffering of badly burned or scalded children through accidental fires caused by unsafe paraffin stoves, candles and hot water which are all very common for children in the impoverished townships of South Africa. 

We have set our goal to recollect 14 000 €

All the funds raised in the challenge will go directly towards the Phoenix Burns Project. The Phoenix Burns Project will then distribute the funds on three main aspects: burns related clinical equipment, long term psychological therapy for the children and their families and educational programs on burn prevention for residents of the townships most affected.
