Phoebee and Simon's Park Run for Sam

Fundraising for Tree of Hope
Over the last few years Simon and I have had the pleasure of working with Carolyn at Keele University. Carolyn and her husband's 6 year old son, Sam, has multiple disabilities and a life-limiting seizure disorder.
Carolyn and Jono wish to give Sam as rich and fulfilling a life as possible. A key part of this is adapting their family home to better suit Sam's needs, an enormous task which unfortunately can only be part funded by the council. The renovations are estimated to cost roughly £100,000, so a great deal of fundraising is needed to hit this target!
Two years ago Carolyn and Jono moved to a home that would be better suited to Sam's needs. Sam has never had his own bedroom and currently shares a room with them so they are close by to help when seizures hit at night. As a family they sleep in the sitting/dining room, as there are only two rooms that Sam can access with his wheelchair (the ‘bedroom’ and front room). Sam is unable to access the garden due to steep steps, and has to be given a bed-bath during the week as its becoming increasingly difficult and unsafe to get him upstairs to the bathroom. He needs a fully-adapted bedroom and wetroom with hoisting to allow him to be moved safely, and all doors downstairs need widening to allow his wheelchair to pass through easily. In short, remodel the entire downstairs of their home… basically, this is the Voisey's own DIY S.O.S.
Simon and I are completing the Hanley Park Run on Saturday April 14th to help fundraise towards the £100,000 target needed to get Sam the house adaptations he needs. Any support would be greatly appreciated!
