The Mental Health Foundation is the UK’s charity for everyone’s mental health.With prevention at the heart of what they do, the Mental Health Foundation aim to find and address the sources of mental health problems so that people and communities can thrive.
We will be taking part in a Sky dive in Grange-over-Sands, jumping over 10,000ft from a plane. This will take place during Mental Health week (15th May-21st May, 2023) on 20th May, 2023.
1 in 6 people, per week, report suffering with MentalHealth
98% of people agree that there is a stigma around Mental Health and those who experience Mental Health issues also experience discrimination. Raising money can help to do more research in order to provide people with a better understand and educate people on Mental illness to offer those who suffer more support systems in order to try and prevent issues.
In 2020, 3/4 registered deaths by suicide were men - in comparison to 1in 8 men report suffering with Mental Health issues compared to a higher statistic for women, as 1 in 5 women report suffering with Mental illness. This may be due to the stigma of men being “tough” and not showing “weakness” so therefore are more likely to suffer in silence compared to women.
With fundraisers, Mental Health foundation aim to create a world where Good Mental Health is a reality for everyone.
By raising money for Mental Health foundation, this aims to help deliver crucial research into Mental Health to help develop solutions for prevention and treatment.
