Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Amy and I are going to jump out of a plane on the 13th April 2014. Not just because we are a little crazy, but because we are raising money for an incredible cause, and keeping an amazing little boy's legacy alive.
For those of you who don't know, Amy and I are both paediatric staff nurses at St George's hospital, and we both had the honour of caring for a wonderful and inspirational little boy called Samuel.
Samuel had a rare type of T-Cell Lymphoma, and sadly lost his battle on the 22nd January 2014, after a tough 5 month battle. During those 5 months he underwent some really intense and nasty treatment, but kept up beat and positive the whole way. All Sam really wanted during his time in hospital was to make the hosiptal a nicer place for other children and their families, he became determined to change things for the better, and never stopped caring about others.
He started Samuel's Charity so that he could provide helpful things for the hospital to make children and parents' stays better. So far his chairty have bought mugs, and a toaster for the kitchen, new parent's beds are being trialled on the ward, and games consoles, games and new TVs are also in the pipeline.
Sam was a passionate and selfless little boy, who wanted to change the world for the better. He had big dreams, and an even bigger heart. He is missed so much by everyone who loved him, and everyone he touched, so please, PLEASE donate what you can to ensure that his dream of a nicer hospital and better facilities can be made a reality. Together, we can keep his legacy alive.
Thank you.
