Story
Last weekend, together with my friend's Nat & Anna, I swam from Looe Island to Looe beach (approx 1 mile & took 50 minutes). I did this in my Dad's memory because I want to continue fundraise for this worthy charity...
My Dad Richard Stockman was diagnosed with prostate cancer several years ago. Following years of treatment, he is finally at peace from his arduous sufferings. If he had been more aware of the symptoms, which he had been ignoring for several years prior to diagnosis, then he could have been diagnosed earlier and a cure would have been more possible for him. I don't want anybody to suffer as my Dad did, so I want to help raise awareness to facilitate an early diagnosis for other dads, grandads, uncles, brothers, husbands, sons, nephews & friends...
About the charity: Raising awareness is at the heart of everything we do, as well as this, with funds raised by YOU, we support our hospitals by purchasing the very latest equipment and treatments that perhaps aren’t available in the region. We have a unique geography, so our work is often unique, to help more men than ever before, we’re also building an online community, reaching more men in the community who need help and support during and after their cancer treatments. We want men and their families to know that we’re here for as long as you need us!
