Story
In February 2014 I will volunteer for 10 weeks on a community development programme in Nicaragua with Raleigh International. This is part of International Citizen Service (ICS), which brings young people together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most.
I’ll be working alongside volunteers from Nicaragua, on a community health project or a natural resource management project. To get a feel for the kind of things I’ll be doing take a look at this video.
To show my commitment to the project I am hoping to fundraise £800 for Raleigh international. Please note this will not fund my trip, but will fund the ICS programme as a whole. In order to raise the funds I will be doing a 30K walk along the Thames path on 7/12/13. The route will start at Windsor and will end in Remenham, near Henley On Thames. I have never done much more than a dog walk before so this will be a huge challenge for me. I hope to complete the walk in around 7 hours.
I am also holding events to help boost my fundrasing, including a bake sale at Scotsdales Garden Centre on the 10/11/2013. You can check out my fundraising progress on my blog https://phoebeisfundraising.wordpress.com
Any contribution from you will make a huge difference to the lives of people in developing countries so any donation no matter how small (or big) is much appreciated!
Thanks for your kind support,
Phoebe.
