Under the Team name: Four Men went to Munro – Phil Sutton, Iain Powell, Kevin Lowe and Ross Gray – in a moment of madness (down the pub) agreed to enter this year’s Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon.
I am taking part in the event to raise much needed funds for the charity Headlines, which we have been a part of since our eldest son, Zach was born with a rare condition called Apert Syndrome. The condition affects the development of the head and face as well as impacting all the senses. The charity provides much needed support to children and their families who are affected by the condition
The event takes place in the Scottish Highlands in & around Loch Tay and its surrounding Munros. The event starts with a 0.8 mile swim across the Loch (it will be cold!), a 15 mile walk/run over 7 Munros (including about 8000 ft of elevation), 7 miles double kayak back on the loch followed, finally, by a 34 mile cycle round it. We're hoping it takes less than 12 hours!
We have been training over the past 6 months walking endlessly up and down box hill, weekends in Brecon, Kayaking on the Thames and cycling whenever possible.
Thanks for your support.
