Story

In his memory Tunbridge Wells Youth Football Club, Phil's friends and family are raising money for Mind.

"Phil was a charismatic individual, who tragically passed away too early, leaving a young family and large network of friends.  A dedicated partner, father, son and friend to many; he will be terribly missed.

He would always dedicate a large amount of his time in helping others and was a key fundraiser for Tunbridge Wells Youth Football Club.   A local businessman, he was extremely popular and a pillar of the community.

In his memory, we hope to raise funds for Mind so they can continue their work to recognise and more importantly, help those suffering from, mental health issues to reduce further tragic situations.

For anyone affected by mental health, directly or indirectly, or would like to support this amazing cause in memory of Phil, we kindly ask you to donate whatever you can spare to Mind.  During this time of trepidation, our objective is to provide funds to Mind so that they can support those who need it".

Why support Mind?

The Coronavirus pandemic has caused exceptionally challenging and worrying times for each and every one of us. The effects of social distancing, lockdown, the loss of loved ones to the virus and the over-consumption of stress-inducing media reports is taking a huge toll on our mental health and wellbeing; and will continue to have lasting effects long after lockdown is over.

More than half of adults (60%) and over two thirds of young people (68%) have said their mental health got worse during lockdown.

The Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic will leave a deep and lasting scar on the mental health of millions in this country. The devastating loss of life, the impact of lockdown and loneliness, and the inevitable recession that lies ahead will affect all of us.

How will your donation support Mind?

•    £20 could run Mind's online peer support community for an hour, helping people connect with others and feel less alone.
•    £40 could help the Infoline answer calls, providing someone with vital support and information about help available for them.
•    £50 could help Mind campaign for better mental health services from the Government, ensuring people get the support they need, as soon as they need it.
•    £100 could pay the cost of one of Mind's Infoline or Legal Line advisors for a whole day. They can maintain their advisors, ready to answer calls for support and help.
•    Help to fund a range of national and local services including workplace training to develop mentally healthy offices, applied suicide intervention skills, Mental Health First Aid and bespoke training sessions.
