Story
In October, my current life partner, Julie, is running the 26.2 miles Yorkshire Marathon in aid of Sarcoma UK. I'm doing the lesser 10-mile run on the same day to support her. I'm not running the full marathon because I'm not as fit as her and have jiggly man tits.
Over the last two years, we have watched Sarcoma rip apart the world of our close friends Phil and Beck Jerrod. Sarcoma is an incredibly rare form of cancer that often doesn't get a great deal of funding. So much more research is needed to prevent others going through what our friends are currently experiencing.
10 years ago, after her one and only marathon, Julie swore she'd never do another one because she hated it. Until now she's been true to that promise. However, having seen first-hand the devastation that this rare cancer causes, she decided to pop the running shoes on one more time and run that ridiculous distance.
Because Julie paid to enter this race herself she's not under any obligation to fundraise, but she is motivated to do as much as she can for Sarcoma UK.
Essentially, if you do wish to sponsor us. please sponsor Julie, not me (although all money goes in to one pot). Julie's the one doing the hard work; I'm just jogging on the day so that she's not alone during the race and has someone to hand her water at the end.
Thank you
