Story
When I was 15, I was diagnosed with a heart condition, a common heart arrhythmia (supraventricular tachycardia) , after two heart surgeries (cardiac ablations)and years of constant medication I was later diagnosed with a rare heart arrhythmia (inappropriate sinus tachycardia). While trying to live a ‘normal’ life I have to live with the thought that one day I will more than likely suffer heart failure and depend on the critical research of he British Heart foundation to survive.
Although I have days struggling to get out of bed because my resting heart rate can vary between 120-200bpm I have decided to become a British heart foundation runner because I have first hand knowledge how hard it is to stand by while somebody who you love so much suffers and not be able to help them in any way. I also know that one-day, my family will have to go through the same struggle with me, that’s why I have decided that while I am still fit and able I need to make a difference.
The BHF is the charity leading the critical research that will hopefully allow me and thousands of other people suffering from heart conditions/disease to lead a longer and fuller life, but I cant do it alone, we also need people like you to donate, any amount how ever small will be greatly appreciated.
