Story
In May 2019, Kristen and I ran the Edinburgh Marathon together. In the early miles of the run, I had a great idea to run the London Marathon the following April for my 40th birthday. I had changed my mind by the time I crossed the finish line. Time is a healer and by August 2019, when Kristen’s dad, Lou, was diagnosed with Lymphoma, we were ready to run London. We were ready to make a difference and so started working with Anthony Nolan to get charity places for London and help raise money for a personal and worthy cause. Unfortunately, London was full, but Berlin was calling!
Many of us are warriors, fighting challenges and are unlucky in health. The war with blood cancer is sometimes lost, and it is sometimes won. We personally know of 2 special people who have suffered with Lymphoma and we have seen the pain, frustration and indescribable emotions associated with the battle. Running the 42km that is a marathon is nothing compared to what anyone coping with this horrid disease goes through. We would like to remember those who have fought, help those who are now fighting, and those who may fight in the future win their war.
We would like to ask for your kind support as we raise some money for the Anthony Nolan Blood Cancer team who research blood cancer and help patients suffering with Lymphoma by providing stem cell transplants. For Pete, and for Lou, our battle with 42km is nothing compared to what you have had to endure.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for anything you can give to this worthy charity.
