Story
We did it!! It was a long way and very hilly - the first 11 miles were across salisbury plain on a gravel track which took us 4 hours. After 15 mintues for lunch we walked conituously to the 3rd check point at 18.5 miles, then climbed a massive hill so we were up above the chalk white horse and our speed slowed as the afternoon wore on. The weather was great for walking, cloudy and with a breeze and we chatted to lots of others along the way. We ended up walking with a lovely guy called Graham who lent me one of his walking poles as my hips started to hurt around lunchtime. The ground was very uneven for much of the walk but we just kept going - one foot in front of the other.I went on some big walks as a child with both of my brothers but none of them were like the one yesterday. As you know my lovely big brother Nick died of cancer 10 years ago this summer and Macmillan supported him during his illness. If you fancy sponsoring us now you know we've done it I know Macmillan would be really grateful . Plus I can barely walk today - I resemble a 90 year old which is quite funny - even though James says I am over half way to ninety after all. Thank you for your support.
