Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The Cancerkin walk this year was a delight. Seven friends joined me. It was, we all agreed, the most beautiful day of the year. The sun warmed us as we walked. When it was too hot we had cool wooded glades to walk through and at the end we had the most glorious pin sharp views of London. Two hundred people walked in support of Cancerkin's work with breast cancer patients.
This year I graduated from 6 monthly to annual hospital check-ups. But I’m not complacent. Cancer is not ‘cured’. You live with it and that fact makes every single day precious.
I am so aware of that each week when I am at Cancerkin and I meet women who are not so fortunate as I. Their outlook may be bleaker but Cancerkin gives them a warm, comforting place to be away from daily cares and where an hour’s massage can make you feel as if life may be worth living, provided the cancer lets you. As one woman said ‘It’s a wonderful service -- I'm very grateful for it. I love coming here, the people are kind in every way. It is a relief being here. It feels safe and that is very restful and healing.’
So please do support me even though the Walk is over! I'd now like to hit £2000.
