After walking along the River Thames in driving rain last year, I will be trekking 60km in the blistering sun of the Amalfi Coast in September. And while the Thames is almost level, the Amalfi Coast is rugged - with flights of hundreds of stairs to climb and steep slopes to negotiate.
As you can see from the photo, my first challenge is to shed a few kilos around the middle. Then there will be hours in the gym suffering MTV. But the greatest challenge will be to raise at least £2,000 for Norwood.
I’ve kicked off the fundraising by paying all the costs of my taking part in this trek, which means that everything I raise will go straight to the people we support at Norwood.
In case you’ve forgotten, at Norwood we believe that everyone should be able to reach their full potential and live life to the full, regardless of disadvantage and disability.
We are a charity that supports children, families and adults with disadvantage or learning disabilities, providing services to Jewish people and wherever possible to other people.
We provide a range of more than 120 support services to approximately 10,000 children, families and adults in the UK. Those services include housing, special education, employment and leisure services. We also support families that are in crisis, those facing social disadvantage and children who require fostering and adoption services.
If you’ve read this far, you’ll know that I am looking for your support. The easiest way is to sponsor me through this Justgiving website. Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Norwood gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. If you would rather donate in a different way just let me know.
Thanks for your support!
