Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On the 28 May 2008, I'll be starting a 5 day walk from coast to coast following the route of Hadrian's Wall. I will begin in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and end in Bowness-on-Solway, a distance (if navigated correctly!) of 84 miles. I mean, how hard can it be to follow a wall?!
I have wanted to do this walk for a long time, and when someone suggested sponsorship, I thought this would be a great idea to ensure that I finish the walk, even if the heavens' open....
Who knows, if the target is reached, then the remaining funds could go towards the completion of the wall...it will look nice when it's finished!
Please remember that donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Prostate UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So, please be as generous as you can.
Thank you and kind regards
Phil
P.S. Don't forget the gift aid, and please forward to anyone you think may also like to contribute. Ta!
P.P.S. Due to overwhelming generosity the initial fund target of £200 has been achieved. Thank you to all. .....New target: £300.
P.P.P.S Due to completely overwhelming generosity the already revised fund target of £300 has been achieved. A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL.......New target:£400.
Well!.... Walk completed eight o'clock Sunday evening 1st June. Passed through some gorgeous countryside, fascinating history and a personal challenge fulfilled, though only by ditching the tent and other unnecessary equipment on the last day.
To really appreciate the trail and history I think doing it over ten days, staying in hotels and B&B's with luggage sherpa and a personal foot massager would be the only way.... Next time.
Thank you to the missus for campsite setup on the last night and for meeting me at the finish..... 'Doug' a fellow trail walker from Seattle Washington and evening ' Beer sampling buddy', and for all of you that sponsored. THANK YOU.
