Story
Phil Blackmore was one of my best friends. Over the last decade we created great memories; from meeting in the USA at Summer Camp in 2006 to countless nights out and our recent holiday to Sri Lanka and Dubai in October. He even put me up in his flat for 4 months. He was truly someone who could be relied upon, no matter what.
Early last year Phil began to have seizures and in August he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Sadly, on December 31st, Phil suddenly passed away as a result of the tumour. He was only 31.
Phil was a keen sportsman. He played football regularly. He competed in the Manchester and Berlin marathons, as well as taking on a section of the Tour de France course. He has also competed in the London Triathlon 3 times.
Phil was always up for trying something new. So, in his memory, I am going to try something new. On Saturday 22nd July I will be competing in the London Triathlon to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.
