Story
What will I be doing and why? (A message from RBLI and myself) - "On the 28/08/22 I will be jumping out of an aircraft at 10,000ft on a mission to increase awareness in support of veterans and their families. I am raising money for veterans who gave so much for us, who now find themselves without a home, without a job to support their families and sometimes with life changing injuries and mental health difficulties following their service for our country."
From a personal point of view - "I have dealt with my own fair share of challenges in recent times. The past 3 years have been a massive struggle, but somehow I made it through with the help of my dear friends and family. And so it has made me realise others in a similar position would greatly benefit from that same support network. The thought of making sure others have access to the proper help in order to overcome these trying mental barriers fills me with hope and a sense of joy. I want to make a difference and encourage more people to do the same."
The benefits of your donations - "With your help we can raise enough funds to..."
- Offer a homeless veteran plenty of trips and excursions to adventurous and exciting places! Making new memories instead of reminiscing on the old negative hardships and traumatic past experiences.
- Music sessions and performances would also become available. Music and the arts have proven to be highly successful in promoting positive emotions/behaviour, especially to those with mental health conditions such as PTSD and many more!
- Emergency support packs and/or a personal drop box could be everything an ex-service personnel needs to take that first step forwards into a normal healthy civilian life.
In conclusion - "By supporting my leap of faith you will be helping and more crucially saving others from their own demons, but also the daunting struggle through life after service."
"Donating what you can will help me, help RBLI, and in turn help veterans and their families! Thank you!"
