I must be mad!
What started as a rather casual conversation between four work colleagues, over a beer one Friday evening, and seemed like good fun and easy if I'm honest (the more beer I had) has fast become a reality. The reality that 100km is such a long way (over 62 miles in fact), which is the same as walking across the English Channel three times or from London to Brighton, the reality that I've almost definately bitten off more than I can chew (teamed with the much younger members of XX) because we have to complete the gruelling South Downs walk in under 30 hours and the reality that I'm not as fit as I thought (and I will need to train hard, so very hard).
I am asking you to join my team and I on this worthy, albeit mad adventure and to donate whatever you can to help us reach our target. Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust are both worthwhile charities and by sponsoring us you will be helping them to continue making the impact they do in the UK and overseas.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
