As a team of staff and Trustees we want to raise the money to support one community pump repair in rural Mozambique, by giving up something we love for Lent! We aim to repair 150 pumps this year and this is just one way we plan to achieve that.

Story

At Village Water, we spend most of our waking moments thinking about water and how unfair it is that some people don't have it and a lot of our time trying to change it. This year, with our local partners in Mozambique, we are planning to repair 200 water points in schools and villages this year and as a team we want to raise the money for the very first. Joined by our board of superstar Trustees, we're going to give up one thing we love for Lent - as if lockdown wasn't hard enough! - or setting our own personal challenges, asking our friends and families to donate whilst making our own contributions too. What will be a challenge for us for 40 days is still nothing in comparison to what families in rural Zambia have to survive through every day. By raising £1018 we can help around 400 people access safe water near their home, along with a decent toilet, somewhere to wash their hands, helping protect from COVID-19 and hygiene training.
