2017 Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon · 24 September 2017 ·

We target what’s important to stop ovarian cancer devastating lives.

Story

The photo you can see is my Mum & Dad on their wedding day. Look great don't they! They had dreams of a long life together - sadly kidney cancer took my father at 49, and 13 years later Ovarian cancer took my Mum aged 63.

When I see this picture I think of all the plans they made for a long & happy retirement - plans that never came to pass. So in the year that I turn 50 myself I've decided to run the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham this September.

The aim is to raise whatever I can for cancer research so that other Mums & Dads get the chance to live the life they planned. I've put a target of £1,000, but to be honest I've plucked that figure out of the air. I'd be unbelievably grateful if you feel able to donate anything.

Failing that you can just laugh at pics of me sweating buckets as I navigate the streets 😀

Many thanks & lots of love - Phil x
