Story

This Sunday would have been the day that the London Marathon was run which raises 10’s of millions of pounds for UK charities - we heard about the  2.6Challenge to help replace the money lost by charities and wanted to support our chosen charity - the Alzheimer’s Society under the banner of Insurance United Against Dementia which is a fantastic Industry wide initiative that I am involved with. The challenges of Dementia are personal to my family as my Father-In-Law is in a home suffering from the disease and currently facing the additional hardship of being completely isolated from his loved ones - we thank all of his carers for their incredible support, particularly in this crisis. Losing fund raising opportunities at the time that they have more demand on their services than ever. Hopefully, we can make a small difference by raising some funds for this great cause. Aviva have kindly agreed to match the first £250 of donations.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
