This year my longest known friend who used to make mud pies with me aged 3 (more years ago than I care to remember)  and also Jode’s cousin have passed away whilst fighting depression.  

I was going to do this just for me, something to challenge myself with no pressure to have to do it for anyone but me, these events have changed that ‘selfish' approach though.  I may have my struggles to get to where I need to fitness wise, I may have good training days, I may have bad training days, I will succeed though.  Many men don’t win their battle with depression and we can do many small things to help that will result in big changes.   

I am going to run this thinking of these two men with so much potential and to raise money for an organisation called CALM (www.thecalmzone.net) to help deal with this disease through various ways including music and comedy which are very pertinent given the two men I have mentioned.
