We build schools and support education to alleviate poverty in Malawi

Story

As President of Welshpool Rotary Club I am pleased to support Church Stretton Rotary Club's walk in aid of the Mlambe Project - why are we helping? Malawi is one of the very poorest countries in the world with a basic literacy rate of 62%. The mission of the Mlambe Project is to provide sustainable livelihoods and quality education to Malawian people using innovative, low cost and high impact methods. This is achieved by building classrooms in remote villages in Malawi using earth bag techniques, thus providing employment and education possibilities in a very sustainable and environmentally positive way. To raise funds for this Project, I and my partner, Diana Barlow, will join Church Stretton Rotarians Don Lovejoy, Sue Akers and Patrick Lewis and we will be walking the full 84 miles of Hadrian’s Wall from July 18th to July 23rd. Please sponsor us and help to achieve our goal..
