Cancer is something that affects us all in some way. We all know of someone, either friend or family who is affected by this terrible disease.

Initially I was raising money in memory of a dear friend from work who sadly passed away last year. He was on of lifes good guys- he never moaned once about his illness, he never complained, he just got on with things as best he could. Determined not to let his condition get the better of him he even managed to take part in the great north run in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. This was why I wanted to put my participation in the Milton Keynes Marathon to some good.

Then just after I signed up to "Team Daffodil" I found out that a relative had also been diagnosed with cancer. This has made me more determined to raise as much as I can for this worthwhile cause.
