Story
Dear friends, family and colleagues,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my just giving page in memory of my dear friend Paul Maynard.
Paul sadly passed away at the age of 60 at the London Bridge Hospital on 13 October 2013 after battling with prostate cancer.
Paul was a great friend, an inspiring leader, and a hugely intelligent and kind human being, who is sorely missed by all who knew him.
I have decided to run the London Marathon to assist the amazing team at Guy's and St Thomas' hospital in their ongoing battle against an awful disease. Hopefully, my effort and your generosity will help them in this battle.
All of your generous donations are going to the Guys and St Thomas' charity where the money will be used to purchase vital equipment to help other patients and their families, who may not readily have access to such sophisticated equipment in the fight against prostate cancer.
Your contribution could help provide a chance for a more positive outcome for other men in a similar situation to Paul.
26.22 miles is a long, long way but, with your support, Paul's memory & this quote in mind, we will achieve a lot for a bloody good cause. Thank you!
“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!” Rocky Balboa

(p.s. see you there to cheer me on; I’ll buy post marathon beers!)
