Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My father was diagnosed with cancer of his esophagus in the summer of 2000. He had an operation to successfully remove it but suffered a secondary condition which caused a hardening of his lung tissue (ARDS). This ultimately took him from us in December 2000.
My father was the world to all of us and did everything for us when it came to gardening, DIY and just looking out for us. He is well remembered for always wanting to do things for everyone else and not wanting a fuss made on his birthday or other special events.
Dad was always pleased to see family members and friends. He was always interested in what they were upto, giving good advice, encouragement and genuinely pleased for what they were involved in.
I feel I took him for granted and still miss him to this day.
He would be proud to know that I am attempting to do this.
At 16 stone I am not built for running but will give this 10k my best shot. It will hurt I am sure. I aim to do more events through the year, this is the second time I have done something like this (having done a 40 mile bike ride in 2007).
