Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page and taking the time to read my reasons for cycling the 2023 RideLondon 100.
I'm grateful to say that I don't have any personal experience of living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) but like many others I was deeply touched by the story of Leeds Rhinos Rugby League legend Rob Burrow's MND diagnosis in 2019, just two years after retiring as a professional player. It struck me how MND can affect any of us, even a professional athlete like Rob. Wanting to help, I began donating to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
More recently, I decided to get more involved and support the MNDA in other ways. Having met with the MNDA West Yorkshire Branch, I was truly inspired by the people I met, many of whom are living with MND.
As a result, I'm now a Fundraising Volunteer helping the branch continue its work in providing a support network for local people who have been diagnosed with MND, their carers and families.
Those living with MND face enormous challenges which is why the support that the branch provides is so important to them and their families. This is why I'm raising funds for the West Yorkshire Branch by cycling the RideLondon 100.
My fundraising target of £777 is a nod to Rob and Kevin Sinfield's 7in7 campaign. Please support me by making a donation if you can or sharing my page with friends and family or both!
Thanks again!
Paul
