Statement issued on behalf of Petro Dixon's family through the RFL
Benevolent Fund
It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved and much loved Petro. Petro ,aged 10 years old, died following a freak accident at the ground of Cadishead Rhinos. This followed an impromptu game of rugby after the end of Cadishead Under 12's game on Saturday, June 22nd.
No blame is apportioned and everything was done to save Petro, who had an undiagnosed brain condition. He died in hospital on Sunday, June 23rd. The family would like to acknowledge the medics and all those who responded so quickly at the Cadishead club. We wish to thank the Cadishead Rhinos Rugby League Club and all those who have acted so kindly to our family.

The RFL Benevolent Fund is assisting the family and details of Petro's
funeral will be given when finalised.
A Just Giving Fund has been set up by the RFL Benevolent Fund to assist Petro's family.
