Let's Play 100 Heroes
Campaign by Let's Play Project (RCN 1180524)
Let's Play are searching for 100 local heroes to raise £100 each! We rely on the generous efforts of people like you to provide days out & trips for our young people with additional needs. Could you be our hero?

Story

Friends have a way of getting you involved in crazy things you probably wouldn't think of yourself. So when Amanda suggested cycling from Anglesey to Cardiff I thought that sounds nice! We both have strong links to Let's Play so decided it would be a great way to raise funds for this amazing project!

As part of the Let's Play 100 Heroes Campaign we will be helping to raise funds for trips out for the young people aged 5-25 with additional needs that attend the After School Club and Holiday Club the project runs - trips that current funding simply cannot stretch to.

It costs £450 to take just 10 young people swimming including the use of an accessible bus to get there.

Check out their website http://letsplaybanbury.org/ to find out more about what they do!

The Challenge: It’s a huge, massive, scary challenge and will be the hardest bike ride we’ve ever attempted! We're not actually sure how we are going to do it! We will need some very padded shorts!! We are determined not only to complete the ride but to raise as much money as possible for this incredible charity and the amazing young people & families they support!

  • Day 1 - 85 miles climbing 8,351 feet
  • Day 2 - 106 miles climbing 12,387 feet
  • Day 3 - 60 miles climbing 6,000 feet

Amanda' s story: This is an opportunity to fund raise for Let's Play, an incredible charity to which I have  personal links. My daughter is a Playworker and supports the young people who come to Let’s Play. It is her ultimate aim to be a paediatric nurse and Let’s Play has certainly been her inspiration for her long term goal. As a family we know first-hand the amazing difference the charity makes to the young people and families who use the service.

Tracey's story: I joined the Board of Trustees in 2013 and was so impressed & overwhelmed with what the charity did that I jumped at the chance to work for the Let’s Play team in 2015 and have a direct hand in driving the project forward. It's a privilege to watch the project grow from strength to strength.

If you are able to, please dig deep and sponsor us! Every penny donated will go directly to Let's Play, as the event is self-funded by ourselves. This will be the biggest incentive to get us up those Welsh hills!

Many thanks,

Amanda and Tracey.
