Story
Job done.
Completed the walk on Thursday - it took an extra day due to muddy conditions and a total lack of training. Thanks to all who sponsored me and for those that didn't - it's not too late! Special thanks to Fletch for joining me on the Knighton leg and the use of the camper van. Recommend the walk - in the summer. Leave for Zambia in February so will keep all informed of other fundraising events. Thanks again and Happy Christmas to one and all. All the best
Pete
I'll be volunteering for 2 years in Northern Zambia providing advice on land use planning. I'll be working with local communities and the provincial government to plan for future housing, jobs, and infrastructure such as schools and health care facilities. I'll also be working on improving squatter settlements by planning and securing funding for safe drinking water and proper sewerage infrastructure. The money I hope to raise will not go towards my placement, but to help fund other projects VSO are involved in. Your contributions will help build the capacity for local communities to help themselves. VSO work in many developing world countries including those currently affected by Ebola. VSO works to provide training and expertise to enable local communities to deal with these and other problems in the longer term.
