Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page.

Right! I don't often post alot of personal stuff on social media but this one needs to be shared sorry its a long one 😂
In January my dad got diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and was given a prognosis of 6 months with no treatment we were all devastated, he started immunotherapy and chemo to try and extend, In February he got pneumonia and he fought it like superman.
Fast forward to June he got legionlla pneumonia and was critically ill he fought yet again and started to pull through to then be knocked back with a second bout of a different pneumonia this time pseudomonas bacteria pneumonia which is a bugger to treat once again critical all this resulting in a 6 weeks in hospital to be then told there was no more they could do for him.
Dad wanted to be in a hospice for his final moments which we managed to get him in teeside hospice. Once in there all treatment was stopped and I was told we had about a week left with him as you can imagine the worst news possible, day 2 in there he seemed to be getting better but didn't dare to believe it 1 and a half weeks later he walked out of there to make more memories with his family.
Now dad has decided he wants to raise some much needed funding for the hospice with coronavirus they have lost so much funding this year and we honestly cannot praise them enough the care my dad received and still is is first class and the support they have for family too is invaluable, so dad has decided he wants to walk a half marathon for teesside hospice starting on the 6th nov now dad is on borrowed time but this is something he really wants to do I ask everyone to please help us raise as much as possible and dig deep or even if all my friends could please share this to spread it far and wide along with the story thank you xx

Anyone that knows me knows I am an active family man, who loves life and keeping fit. Following my diagnosis of stage 4 progressive lung cancer, I am more determined that ever to keep exercising and say a hug thank you to everyone that has cared for me recently.

I’ve been thinking about how I can say thank you to the hospice and everyone who cared for me. So, in November, I’m going to walk a half marathon, 13 laps of Locke Park in Redcar. I feel fit. I know I can’t run it, but I’m determined to do something. It might take me a few days, but to have my family by my side and complete this challenge for the hospice, will be amazing.

I don’t want sympathy you know. I just want to say thank you, but that doesn’t feel enough. I hope this shows how appreciative I am. I’m ready for the challenge, please donate and support me.
