Story
Here I am again, badgering folk in a good cause
This time it's Whizz-Kidz, a charity doing wonderful things for disabled children, as you will see from their web site.
What am I doing to deserve your support? This time its the London Marathon. Another chance to put me through the pain barrier. mmmmm....lactic acid....As an added bonus, if injury or illness prevent me from completing I promise to do another one as penance!
Mar 09 update
Did my last long mile Sunday 22nd, and feel I have enough of those under my belt. I have been trying 24 mile instead of 20 mile long runs, but decreasing overall weekly mileage as I figure I need more recovery at my age. Weather has been generally kind over the winter, if cool. Concentrating on 5k-MP for the next four weeks, to tune up. Also expecting Mark to work me hard with those pads (max heart rate or bust!). I have my number and the info pack, I suppose that's what is making me feel it's so close.
Apr Update
Taper time! Cross training ("dad" dancing at little Cath's wedding), malt loaf and pasta. Number arrives - 49879 -I hope I can improve on my starting position .
With one week to go the long range forecast web sites are beginning to agree with each other. Dry, not much wind (NE) but a bit warm (18-20). So thats a westerly gale with heavy rain then.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Whizz-Kidz gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Special thanks to everyone at work, St. Peter's and Sarah's practice.
Cheers
Pete
