Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online as HSBC will match every pound I raise.

Having being blessed with two happy and healthy children (and one on the way, hopefully not on the 13/4 !) I am honoured to be one of the first fundraising runners to run the London Marathon on behalf of Martin House.

It has been a long held ambition to run one Marathon in my lifetime, knowing that I am raising money for children with a short life expectancy has given me the incentive to get out and run whatever the weather.

I have run in snow, sleet, torrential rain and gale force winds as I have clocked up 45 miles per week. As a result I have lost a stone but could do with losing another in the next four weeks! I have also learnt that running 20 miles without Vaseline on your legs can be very painful; and that bus drivers will kindly give you a free lift home as you exhaustedly flag them down after 21 miles.

It is safe to say that this will be the only Marathon I will ever run and I would be enternally grateful for whatever donation you can make - having visited Martins House it is a truly inspirational place which desperately needs charitable support.

I look forward to writing to you on the 14/4 confirming that I have survived the experience having hopefully completed the 26.3 miles in less than 4 hours.

Thank you for all your encouragement and support.

Peter
