Five years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.  The words "I am afraid to tell you, but you do have cancer" will remain with me for the rest of my life.  From that day I was determined that this foul disease was not going to be the end of me, so I made the decision to have surgery.  Not the best time of my life but that is all now well and truly behind me.  Since then I have had SEVEN good friends all diagnosed with the same problem. 

During my 'black days' I was recommended to make contact with The Prostate Cancer Charity and with their support, gave me hope that I was not going to be one of the 10,000 men who die from the disease EVERY year.  This Charity really cannot be faulted for their excellent work in supporting those who are seeking information and advice right through to backing research.

Now if I have seven friends who have been diagnosed with this disease, how many men do you know who have admitted to having the disease, or worse still, do not even know the symptons?  A father, brother, son, cousin, friend or YOU?

My revised target of £17,500 is a great deal of money but without support ,The Prostate Cancer Charity would not survive.  So I would now ask you to dig deep into your pockets and make a donation to this worthwhile charity.
