WE ARE SET TO ANNOUNCE THE DATES OF A SIGNED SHIRT AUCTION OVER THE COMING DAYS!!!! Spurs and Arsenal shirts both available... all proceeds going to the Teenage Cancer Trust!
A close school friend of mine Peter Cross tragically lost his battle against leukemia on 3rd June 2012. Pete was diagnosed with cancer in June 2010, a week after he sat his last A-Level – the results of which were outstanding and incredibly he achieved straight A’s. He was due to go on the boys holiday with us but two days before he was due to fly he was admitted to the UCLH cancer ward and faced 2 years of chemotherapy, amongst other intensive treatments all of which he accepted with unbelievable courage and bravery. He had to cancel his place at Southampton University to study Economics.
He was also a fantastic footballer, with a lovely left-foot and some of our most cherished memories are of him playing football alongside us for Roding Valley and Davenant Foundation School. We thought a fitting tribute to him would be to organise a charity football match between the 2 schools, comprising of those players which featured alongside him during our school years. It was held at Roding Valley School on the 9th September and was a closely fought battle in which Roding won 1-0! There was press coverage and over 200 people turned up to support! £1,353.53 was raised on the day....
CAKES - PIN BADGES - WRISTBANDS WERE ALSO ON SALE DURING THE EVENT!
Please DONATE GENEROUSLY and also come down to the next events to show your support in memory of one of our best-friends and a loving son, Peter Cross. All money raised is going toward the TEENAGE CANCER TRUST!
