As many of you may know Dad had prostate cancer, but did he let this stop him, most definately not... One thing I can say about Dad was that he was a fighter, but the most gentlemanly fighter you could wish to meet.
Until a few days ago he could be seen trying to go for a walk and stopping to greet as many dogs and their owners on the way.
He would halt traffic to let other cars out when you were late! he would give his last Rolo to a passing stranger if he thought they would like it, so you can imagine how we, his daughters, knew that we could have the whole packet of Rolos.
A man of principle, he hated to hear any of us speak badly of anyone, he always saw the other side of the story...... infuriating sometimes! but a kinder heart you could not find..... he is a very hard act to follow.
Cancer is such an intrusive widespread disease that can strike anyone, the dreaded C word. Only research can find answers that aren't available yet and we can only hope that in the future others will not have to suffer.
