Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

No story here from me really, just a great cause to donate to.  I have never run or done any physical exercise, but during the last lockdown, after schools returned, and to avoid buying new work clothes I started Couch to 5K.

I struggled to achieve at first but carried on.  10 weeks later I completed this and wanted to continue running (jogging) after the hard work I'd put in (it was painful).

I knew Jo from the playschool my boys attend but never knew her story, and when I read in the Torbay Weekly and Roselands School newsletter a while ago, the story stuck in my mind, so when I decided to sign up to the impossible challenge of Torbay 10k, Leah's Fairy Fund was, I felt was a worthwhile cause.

Please click the link to read the story but this doesn't explain the continuous enthusiasm and passion of Jo and her family to everyone my boys and we have experienced from her.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
