Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Our family was devastated recently by the sudden death of our brother Nick. He was a loving brother, Uncle and Great Uncle who valued his family above all else. Nick could come across as gruff and grumpy but had a wonderful sense of humour and was one of the most caring and generous individuals you could ever wish to meet.
Nick suffered with tinnitus for a number of years although characteristically, never spoke of it or how it affected his life.
Tinnitus is the sensation of hearing a sound when there is no external source for that sound. For some, it is a difficult condition to learn to live with and often causes anxiety. Anxiety, in turn, often makes the experience of tinnitus worse.
The British Tinnitus Association helps support those living with tinnitus, carries out research into how people can better manage the condition and ultimately aims to find a cure.
The Association receives no money directly from the government, so is reliant on the generosity and support of members of the public and grant-making organisations to be able to support people with tinnitus across the UK.
This page has been set up as an alternative to sending flowers to Nick's funeral or to enable people to just make a donation to the charity to enable it to continue its important work. Our sincere thanks to all those that donate.
