The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

On 26th April I will be attempting to run 87 laps of our field on a hillside in Brecon Beacons. Over what will probably take more than 8 hours I hope to complete 2.6km of vertical ascent over 22.6 miles. This is a challenge that will test me to the limits.

I am lucky in all kinds of ways, but being fit and healthy is the thing I treasure the most. A number of my dearest friends and family have been battling cancers over recent years and I have seen how physical activity has really helped with both the physical and mental challenges that these terrible diseases bring. There is now persuasive evidence that a healthy lifestyle during and after cancer is associated with improved physical and psychological well being.

That's why I'm so proud to be able to support MOVE. MOVE are embarking on a mission to inspire people to #MoveAgainstCancerMOVE provide practical and online support to people living with and beyond cancer. They focus services on children and young people living with and beyond cancer and also a wider age range through their new 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer initiative linked to parkrun.
