What began as a challenge to run and cycle across Europe has grown into a series of increasingly punishing adventures. Following a successful 5 months in Europe, I cycled 2,000 miles across India and ran 400 miles across Sri Lanka. Later this year I plan to cycle 8,000km around the coast of Australia.
Between April and November 2018 I cycled over 11,000km across Europe to run in seven marathons in support of the Bristol Heart Institute - a hospital that provides outstanding care to thousands of patients each year. (I also covered the 'three peaks' challenge on the way from Bristol to Edinburgh as a bonus!).
Marathons:
Paris - 8th April
Edinburgh - 27th May
South Downs Trail - 16th June
Tallinn - 9th September
Budapest - 7th October
Zagreb - 14th October
Istanbul - 11th November
Bonus: Mumbai marathon - 20th Jan 2019
The Charity:
I’m supporting Above and Beyond’s Bristol Heart Institute (BHI) appeal which is raising funds to help provide vital new equipment, the latest treatments and surgical techniques and invest in research at the BHI. The BHI supports thousands of patients every year and I am particularly indebted to the high-quality care and support the amazing staff provide. I’ve been an outpatient at the Heart Institute for almost 10 years and underwent two operations as a baby at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. I'm hoping to raise oodles of cash towards the appeal via an epic transcontinental challenge.
