Story
While out walking on the 28th Dec 2016 I suffered a mild heart attack, this being my second cardiac episode that required a coronary angioplasty and stents having previously been diagnosed with unstable angina in 2013. Following both operations the cardiac rehabilitation team at Wycombe Hospital helped my recovery through a professional, monitored and controlled exercise programme as well classes on healthy eating, medication, exercise, managing stress & anxiety and much more, all offered free of charge.
I found these sessions really helped to restore my belief that I could return to a normal active life and give me the confidence that climbing the stairs or other physical activities wasn’t going to bring on another heart attack, I also gained a renewed determination to make changes in my lifestyle to try and prevent a re-occurrence.
My daughter, Kaitlyn (pictured with me above), and myself now wish to give something back so we shall be joining a team walking the 16 London Bridges from Putney Bridge to Tower Bridge on 24th Sept. (about 12.7 miles or 33,0000 steps) to raise money for Hearts & Souls.

Hearts & Souls is a registered charity set up to raise more than £20,000 a year to fund the exercise classes, equipment and specialist trainers for the award-winning cardiac rehabilitation programme in Buckinghamshire.
This helps around 1,000 patients get back to normal life after cardiac events every year. This part of the rehabilitation programme is not funded by the NHS and relies entirely on charitable donations and without Hearts & Souls this service would just not exist.
